Before your first consultation with Dr Briggs, you will be asked to complete a Patient Registration & Medical Questionnaire Form that will be sent to you via email or post. This form will enable Dr Briggs to collect important medical information; including your previous medical history and current medications as well as your contact details.
Are you considering cosmetic surgery? If so, Dr Briggs recommends that you see him for TWO appointments prior to surgery.
At your initial consultation, Dr Briggs will take your medical history in detail. After, Dr Briggs will examine you to assess your individual needs and suitability for surgery. This first consultation takes approximately 30 minutes.
You will also be able to view before and after photographs from past patients. Dr Briggs will also provide you with patient information sheets detailing the type of surgery you have discussed. It is important that you carefully read these information sheets. You should also write down any questions to discuss with Dr Briggs at your next consultation.
After Your First Consultation
Scheduling another consultation appointment after the initial surgery consultation is normal. This is often to discuss any further questions you may have. You will also receive a written quotation of surgical costs from Dr Brigg’s team before this appointment. This quotation is then valid for one year.

Dr Briggs will ensure that any procedure is explained as clearly as possible so that you can understand what may be involved and that you are fully informed.
You may also find it helpful to read the information we have provided that includes some guidelines to assist you in choosing your surgeon and understanding the training and qualifications of a plastic surgeon.
Do I need a Referral?
Please note that patients don’t always need a referral from a GP or other medical professional to make an appointment to see Dr Briggs.
If your procedure is purely cosmetic then you will not need a referral. However, if you want your procedure to be illegible for cover by Medicare and Private Health fund then a current referral is nessassary.
If you are unsure whether or not you need a referral please contact us to discuss. In most cases a referral from GP or medical professional is beneficial.
